No, we have not tried the ICSB pills to raise semen counts.  We have used Fish Oil, vitamines, A, D & E along with saw palmento.  All of these items you can get at Wal - Mart and it worked great.

I would be interested to hear what other folks have tried.

Steph,  Here is what we were told by our repro vet to give for a 90 pound dog.

EPA - 250 mg -Fish oil

DHA - 167 mg - Fish oil

Vit A - 1250 IU

Vit D - 125 IU

Vit E - 75 IU

This is what we give 5 fish oil tablets that are 1000mg each, 1 Vit A, 1 vit D3, and 1 1000mg Vit E.  We give this daily.  It has worked wonders.

Hi, what are those pills you are talking about??

I have heard that the oils and vitamins work great! A friend with Samoyeds used a similar mix for her 10 year old boy and got 8 puppies when she used him with her bitch!

Also red meat is good for them too, apparently it's like Viagra for dogs

Steph - do you know what is in them?  I went and looked at their website and I couldn't find any information on they contain.  I would be interested in knowing to see if this is supplement that we should add for our dogs.

That's good info, so it's not going to hurt them to have them on it all the time. I'd probably do the oil mix aswell as the vitamins. Alfalfa has vit C and K in it and Brewers yeast is mainly vit B if i remember right?

Here we go

""Brewer's yeast is often used as a source of B-complex vitamins, chromium, and selenium. The B-complex vitamins in brewer's yeast include B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid), and H or B7 (biotin). These vitamins help break down carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, which provide the body with energy. They also support the nervous system, help maintain the muscles used for digestion, and keep skin, hair, eyes, mouth, and liver healthy. However, brewer's yeast does not contain vitamin B12, an essential vitamin found in meat and dairy products; vegetarians sometimes take brewer's yeast mistakenly believing that it provides B12, which can be lacking in their diet.""

Throw in some red meat with that and i think you'll have one randy little dog!

I have tried ICSB with my 4 years old male. I only gave him two doses, he became extremely sick, refused food for a few days. He was lethargic and vomiting 20 times a day for a week. I contacted International Canine Semen Bank and offered to send the product back. They refused to take it back, refund the money and blamed .... the dog.
So save your money, it's not worth it.
