I wanted to share this while it is still fresh in my mind as I forget everything now days .
When I learned Molly may have cancer I was scrambling to think of ways to save her. She was so strong and vibrant until just a week ago she went downhill fast.
I rememeberd that one of my puppy buyers had a son of my frst Mastiff Brandon " Argus"
"Argus" had gotten bone cancer Suzie his Mom took him to UC Davis they did the surgery and informed her he only had 3 months to live not willing to accept this she went online and did a lot of research. She found a Vet in Texas that had devopled this injection derived from Aloe Vera plants. She had her Vet call they ordered some and started his injections immediately. They said it either works or it doesnt it is that simple and she should notice a differnece in 3 weeks.
Suzie did notice a difference the X-rays revealed his tumor was shrinking it eventually went away. He lived 3 more years She felt secure the cancer was gone so quit his monthly maintance shots and within 6 months it was back and ravaged his body and she lost him. BUT she did get 3 more years with him and had she continued his shots  who knows how long he would have lived.

I wanted to know if they could do injections into Molly to shrink her tumor but it was too late for her. Sometimes I wish Mastiffs werent so stoic so I may have seen a sign earlier.

The Company is called Manntech Health and they have Holistic stuff for humans too. You have to call them to ask for the info on the K-9 cancer treatment. Your Vet can buy it thru the Veterinary Supply it is called injectable Manaloe.

I hope this is information that may be useful for someone down the road to save thier loved one and have a few more years with them. We are never ready to say good bye but when we lose them young like molly was 8 years young it is even harder.

Margo thank you for sharing this info. I'm going to put it in my save folder. I lost a 3 yr old to cancer. One minute he was a 200 plus machine and within two weeks he was gone. Chemo was not helping at all so it's wonderful to at least have something else to try.

Hi Margo,

I'm sorry to hear about Molly.  I remember talking to you about the Aloe Vera shots years ago when osteosarcoma struck a second time in 2 months.  We gave Sara Bear Acemannen injections (both IV and into the joint) weekly.  She lived for 8 months...more than her dam, Velvet, or in subsequent years her sister, Mandy, and half sister, Tessa.  Artemisinin is another drug used off-label to treat osteosarcoma.  It is manufactured by Holly Pharmaceuticals in Fullerton, CA.

Margo - I am so sorry. I hate that this disease is claiming our babies. I lost my darling girl to Osteo as well. We tried a chinese (eastern) therapy regime formulated by a Dr. in the North East. It did not buy us much time, but I was grateful for what we had.

I did not opt to do the artemesinin b/c the Dr. did not recomend taking it in conjunction with his remedy. In hindsight I wish I had tried it..... we can kick ourselves all day long.  I believe we will be reuninted with our loved ones on the otherside, if not, why bother to call it heaven.

Hugs to you,
Jill

Caroline and Jill I am so sorry for your losses  to Cancer is a hateful disease . I hope someday there is a cure it claims so many of our babies.

Seems there are other remedies out there. I am glad you guys found something that worked for a bit. This is another alternative we do all we can when the time comes for one of ours the more knowledge the better .

Well, we just lost our boy, Ch. Windfalls Beast of Burden, CGC, TDI "Hagrid" to Osteosarcoma on Tuesday. What a shock. He was so athletic, never stopped, etc. Obviously, more stoic than I ever thought. We are still having a hard time that it happened so quick. We sure do miss him. Our house is so quiet. We have our Lenny, thank God, but we still can't believe it.

So sorry Marissa! I actually contacted this place when my Maiden was diagnosed with osteosarcoma end of Aug, they had no idea what I was talking abt and I actually called the lab and left a message and no one got back to me.
Unfortuanaetly, Maiden's was too far gone and we had to send her to the Rainbow Bridge.
Hopefully she and Hagrid are frolicking together.
Cheers,
