The following website is using photos of dogs that do not belong to them to advertise and sell their puppies.  They also do not give their names and the contact phone number does not work.  They accept PayPal and would like unsuspecting puppy buyers to "purchase" one of their pups for $695.00.  I have contacted them numerous times requesting they remove my photo.  There has been no response.

BUYER BEWARE of the following:

I called and spoke to a nice lady at the web design company. She was aware of the problem and stated that they actually did not design the site, but offered suggestions as to the layout of the text and pictures brought to them but the site owner.

She complained that she wanted her name removed from the site and did not ask to have it posted. I suggested she make the contact with the site owner and take care of that, she didn't seem too enthusiastic about doing that, she stated that another guy was also listed and I should contact him.

I explained that what they were doing was illegal, and to protect her from liability she should take the initiative to get it corrected, again she stated that all she did was offer guidance on pictures provided buy the site owner, and a bunch of ramblings about not being able to control the source of pictures brought to her by clients.

When will these people learn!

Tom

Thanks Tom!  I appreciate you getting in touch with them.  What a pain!!  She should be concerned and contact them, and I have no idea when people will learn - LOL!!

Jann, when you have up what you are going to put up on your website, will you post it for others to use so we are global?  Kind of like we all did with the Am/Ma wording?

What about a list of metas that these PM's are using to get business?

i don't know if this can be done by you, although i have seen many websites that have right click disabled and the person can not copy the pic or text no matter what.  Perhaps if i could only learn how, then it would be benefical to all!!

Hi Lauren,
It's a java script that's inserted into your webpage.  There are ways around it, but it definitely makes it harder for people to copy.  Here's a link to one code that can be used:

Monica,
I'll try to come up with something similar to the designer dog warning.  It may take me awhile to put it together, but I'll let you know when it's done.
