Yes, they do and we call it the glisten of love.  They have room clearing gas, at least mine does, pweeeee, they snore and I love every single minute of it.   Drool is cool, you get used to it, just like part of the day. I clean the "glisten" everyday and am happy to do it as these guys and gals are the best friends one can have.    You are going to just fall in love.   Drool and all.   Welcome to the Mastiff world.

Good evening all! My name is Lee Gerhart and I am the proud owner/mom of an 18 month old fawn female. I am a recent Mastiff fancier and I just love this breed. I had researched them for a long time before letting my husband know that I would get one. I got my Baby for my first wedding anniversary. She's gorgeous and loving. I'll have to post pictures of her later, I am at work don't have access to my pictures.

Monica, he knows that what I want I will get whether he agrees with me or not. It's usually so he takes the hint and buys it before I do!!

Monica, I love the pictures on your web site.  I got my very first Mastiff puppy on June 13.  I'm new to the breed, but am a lover of big dogs.  "Fargo", fawn male, will be my biggest ever!  Found this site and had to join.  Glad to see so many new as well as experienced Mastiff owners.  I'm on my way to work this morning, but I'll be back to read and post more.

Hi everyone!! My name is Michele, I am 27 years old and  I am the owner of a 2 year old (about) half mastiff named Dane. He lives with me and my fiance', my two children full time and my fiances' 2 youngest children part time! I really wanted a dog and had gone up to the local shelter to see what I might find. there Dane was sitting in the cell. He was a stray and was picked up by animal control. I was put on a waiting list for him to be released. Come Saturday morning I found out that they were doing a drawing for his ownership and there was four people in it! I obviously got him and love him to death!

Thank you for your site and I look forward to speaking with everyone and sharing stories!

Thank you so much for the welcome!!

I am having trouble trying to figure out what he is crossbred with. He is'nt too tall or stocky. There was a suggestion that he might be Cane Corso. I was looking at pictures of those particular dogs and they look alot like him. His ears are a bit tall stand up at times.

He is my baby!! Don't know what I would do with out him!

Hello,

My name is Matt I do not own a mastiff, but plan to add one to my family in the future and thought here would be a good place to educate myself.  A little about myself I am 26 years old married and have a 6 month old son.  I live in the country on 5 acres,  Me and my wife just recently built a house and have 2 acres fenced in.  We own 1 dog a 4 yr. old english bulldog.

How are mastiffs with kids?  I would like to get one from a breeder that breeds for family temperments, since I have a little boy.  thanks alot Matt

Hey folks, greetings from Texas!

We're not mastiff owners yet but are looking to add to our family this year!

Great work getting the word out about "american" mastiffs. My wife thought we wanted one till i started to research the "difference" and realized (thanks to you guys) that we wanted a Mastiff.

Great site!

Hi everyone!!! I'm Nathalie, 37 yrs old professional. Living in Sherbrooke,QC in Canada.  Waiting for my mastiff... I was owned by a rottweiler since 1995 and he passed away in august 2006.  And I'm in love with Mastiff.  I found my breeder, she's here and we are waiting for the achievement of their championship and health tests.

Welcome Nathalie!!  Good luck on your upcoming arrival!

I was just reading back thru this thread and I must have missed DakotaAnn's post - thank you for the compliment on the pics!!  Are you close to me in proximity?  Just curious since you found my website.  Always good to know mastiff folks that are close by.  Welcome and I'm glad you found the board!

Hi, I finally decided to come out of the woodwork and join your group(I have been reading it for awhile) and have really enjoyed the amount of information on it. I live in Northern California on a small horse ranch and have had mastiffs in my life for almost fourteen years. I saw my first when I was a teen at a show when my mother was showing her dogs and from then on I was in love, I knew then this was the dog, but was not able to have one for another ten years, but my patience payed off and now I am blessed to have these magnificent animals in my life! I have recently started showing conformation and I am looking for all the advice and info I can get. So far many of the threads have helped quite a bit along with pictures (which are so great for a visual) so a novice like me can get an Idea of what the judge looks for in the ring.I look forward to meeting others who share the same passion I do, and that is to preserve and carry on a breed of dog that is so multifaceted, wonderful, and sometimes misunderstood as a large breed.
                                                    Thank You,
P.S Happy B-Day to Jann
( I saw you have the same b-day as
my sister, so I had to say it)                                                      Gemini Herzog
