Since the thread got bumped, thought I'd add another picture of Clifford (Homer's sire) that I found. The other picture made him look so squatty. He's pictured here with his grand/great grandaughter Sunshine at 7 months. She's out of a Clifford daughter (Piper), by a Homer son (Beamer).

Thanks Steve. This is the most recent picture I have left of him. He was just turning five here. He left behind some really nice kids and grandkids. Since the thread was bumped, maybe some will post updates of his red family members that are on the board.

BTW, he was generation two of breeding for color with type. Here's a pic of Sassy (Clifford's dam), at 4. She was an apricot brindle. She got her sires yucky rear (some improvement over her sires, but horrible just the same), but as you know from other pics, I got good rears back when I bred her, in Clifford (and all his littermates), which has continued down through the generations:-)

He only produced six kids (5 apricots and 1 fawn), but did us proud with all of them. Echo passed in the fire, but we still co-own Piper and Homer. Homer has produced some super kids, but I am thinking seriously of breeding Piper one last time, after we get into the new house. I'll add a pic of her too. She's 34 months here (and about a week away from whelping seven pups). The apricot black brindle in the background is Phoebe, a littermate to Clifford (a week before delivering ten puppies).

Geri - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that pic of Clifford & Sunny!  Never saw that one before!

Clinton - Duke is looking fantastic!  Give him a big ole smooch from us northerners (I refuse to be called a Yankee as I'm a proud member of the Red Sox nation!).

Maybe Kristen, Liz, and Sherry would grace us with some recent pics of some of Clifford's other redheaded grandbabies (hint, hint).

Geri,
I love all of your dogs SO much.  Clifford and Homer, as you know, are 2 of my all-time favorites.  I'm so proud to have Homer babes - I think he put his stamp on Muffet, Duke, and Pierre, and I see so much of him in 2 of the kids, and I see Clifford in Duke.  That photo of Clifford and Sunshine is when they were watching the baby chicks, right?  I love it!

You have a good memory Kristen. We had just moved the baby chicks out to the greenhouse. Sunshine and Nauti always eyed them as "fast treats" (that's pups for you LOL) but Clifford and Dragon were intent on knowing where THEIR babies were going.

Kim .. I'm using this picture (and others) to have a life size statue made of him. We are doing all five, but starting with him. He'll be the most expensive (due to size and pose, both in time/materials, and shipping). It's going to take a few years to do it .. It was a lot more expensive then I expected. It's going to take about a year to get the first one. (He is booked about 6 months, and it will take him about 5-6 months to create it.) Hopefully we'll come in a bit under budget on the house to help come up with it. Before I got the numbers back, I asked Scott how high he thought we could afford to go .. He was halfway there .. Now to find the rest! (And you know I won't let him forget my birthday is this month!)

Jana - that's awesome! I hope to run into you both (with Baron or Lincoln) sometime soon. I'd love to learn how to get Angus to do that!

Hey Clinton, Duke's looking good. Email me privately when you have a chance.

Thanks Kristen, but I know you are biased LOL! I can't wait til you can meet Homer in person! His personality is really his best trait. Love this pic of Pierre btw .. Love the color and pigment he inherited:-) Not to mention he reminds me soo much of Homer.

Jana .. I LOVE seeing Baron's working pictures! Any recent pics of Linc that you can email privately???

PJ .. thanks for sharing pics of JD on this thread! I can't get enough of seeing handsome redheads!

Thanks for your complients Monica. I have posted him before (see above on 10/12/06), but most of his pictures were pretty dorky. My hubby doesn't stack well, but he is worse at taking pictures. I could rarely get a natural picture of Clifford, as he was such a momma's boy, and if he saw me come with the camera without someone holding him, he'd then be too close to take the dang pic! The old pic in my avatar was him as well, just the results of my hubby stacking him LOL. This picture was just a "natural snap shot".
