The above kennel was a major influence on Willowledge dogs ( Eve Olson's kennel) . The Davies kennel ( Nantymynydd...pronounced "nanta -mun -ith )was a small kennel and developed a distinct type of mastiff.

They were off the beaten path ( in the sticks ) and didn't get to many shows.

It was not unusual for a mastiff in England to go best in show back then!

D.B. Oliff provided the copy and review of the kennel.

Thanks for sharing the pics Steve.  From a purely artistic standpoint, I love the pic of the dogs behind the old french door with the trees in the background and the fact that the doors are dirtied from their paws no doubt - I think its an artisitc picture...

Now onto CH.Willowledge Ajax - At the show today was Southports Sherman - I got to snuggle his BIG head.  He took BOB and I went home before knowing what he might have done the rest of the day.  My point, the pic abve of CH.Willowledge Ajax is a much different type than the beautiful dog that took BOB today.  Historical views are awesome!  Its amazing to see the how type has changed (sometimes) and not (othertimes).  Just  your point I'm sure... ;-)
