This is one of the more uncommon colors in Mastiffs.

Does anyone have any pictures?

What "makes" a silver fawn?

Any info, etc would be appreciated!

LOL - you guys are gonna get so sick of pics of Monty - but I can't resist.  Monty's mama (Goldleaf's Skye's the Limit) is a beautiful fawn girl.  His dad (Erieside's Wookie Chewbaca) is a silver fawn and when I first saw his coloring I fell in love!!  Its that rich creamy color next to the black that is just so awesome - can you tell I like the silver.  Low and behold our pup from the litter is a silver fawn. And now - you get the pics.

I love the contrast of the coat color and mask and ears in the first pic.

I love the silver fawns...and the apricots and the brindles are gorgeous....do I sound wishy washy or what LOL

Angus Mom is a silver fawn, when he was smaller Angus was too, he's gotten a little bit darker so I'm unsure if he still qualifies. Can they change that way? Will he change back if he was Silver as a pup?

Hi Nancy,

Below is a link to the page of BIS/BISS Ch Ridgewood Otis, a very famous and very handsome dog that was owned by Joe & Carla Sanchez, Southport Mastiffs. Notice how he is so light to almost appear white and no real honey tone?

Anthony, I was hoping you'd post a pic or two of Rosey.  She is a beautiful girl.

Otis looks a bit like Leo - what do you think Jann?

LOL..I wonder what sort of bribery I would have to use for that!!  JoAnn would probably own me for life...lol.  I LOVE Rider....he's such a pretty boy...I just love his coloring.  Those pups would be very "kidnap" worthy!

I've always classified my Josie as a silver fawn - but she has certainly gotten darker lately. When she was a young babe she had a definate "grey" cast to her coat - she was actually darker then the other fawn puppies in the litter. Then she went through a stage where she was very light. Now, at almost a year old, she's light: but she's definately got darker honey tones, especially over her back.

In this picture  (Josie far right)

you can really see how dark her back is getting.

So - I guess I'm not going to call her a silver fawn anymore..

I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's pictures! I've always loved this color

It's funny how you don't think about it - I've always loved Otis but I never realized that he was so light!

It's probably something like how apricots appear lighter on film or the computer screen or in books.

Well Nicci, I personally think that your boy bred to Rosie would make some really nice puppies!  Just throwing in my two cents there.  Maybe we can put Anthony on the hot seat!  LOL  I have admired your boy for a long time and would not hesitate to use him.  He may not be shown a lot, but he is definately worthy!  I have linebred on his brother a couple of times now.  Wonderful boy.  Your boy is just as nice.  Chris

Nancy.. do you think we could get them to change the colors on the AKC form..Check this box for "pretty light fawn" check this box for "Dirty Blonde".LOL

Hey Chris ... have you been reading mine and Anthony's emails...lol.  Thanks for the compliments on the "bonehead" (he's in trouble right now...tried to lick the little kitties to death) He's obcessed with small fuzzy things!!!

I love Neo (if that's who you mean)... he's beautiful.  I have traded emails with Leah and we figured out that they have alot in common..lol.

No, he's never been shown but that's because I know squat about showing.  I'm going to try my hand at here pretty soon ( I hope).
