A friend of mine has a male that is very high energy for a mastiff and has dominance issues. He is 8 months old. What do you guys think about neutering him? I have heard some say yes it helps others say no. Also cutting off the testosterone will affect bone development ?I have heard 2 sides on that. Thanks

Personally I would first have a medical evaluation done. Some signs of medical issues crop up in behavioral issues. Thyroid and some others. Talk to a knowledgeable vet about this and let them know why your doing it.

2nd I would speak to a positive trainer about the specific issues you are having. I would then go through the obed classes.

If the above do not work within a good time frame (be realistic and be committed with the family also) then I would consider neutering earlyer then recommended but only then.

I would also contact the rescue or breeder you got him from. They should be there to help you with anything that comes up.

That is me.
Good luck to your friend.
