Brandy, I think you need several more questions in the survey to my way of thinking.  It just doesn't feel complete.

so far we only have 7 replys i hope that is becasue that is all of the mastiffs on this board with ppms. anyway so far the results are:
of the 7 replys 6 are males.   how interesting.  3 were nursed, 1 was bottled only and 3 were both.  also interesting. that kind of blows a hole in the bottle fed babies theory!!  most did not get an eye infection.  also interesting.  inconclusive on what day the eyes opened.  that was all over.  most have iris to cornea 5.  1 has iris to iris and one has iris to corena but regressed to iris to iris.  one pup has a dam with ppms and one has a grandsire on sire's with ppms.  the rest is unknown. there are two with siblings with ppms and 4 with no siblings with ppms. and 1 unknown. i hope to see more people replying so we can see what is going on witht he ppm's in mastiffs.   i talked to another doctor or vet i should say today that just said what all of the others have said.  lots of gray areas!!!! breeder discression, probably hereditary but probably like 1% or something pretty low of off spring will have ppm's.

i never did put the final results on here. the only thing of interest is that out of the 17 dogs in the survey only 2 were female and all of them were fed either or not just all bottle babies, some were nursed only! most did not know if their parents or grandparents had ppms so that was no help either.
