Hey, I want a Gold star, too, since I test my boys AND girls and Micah has been tested twice so far and will be tested again when PNMF has their next cystinuria clinic.  Remember, folks, once is better than nothing, but multiple tests are BEST.

Jann, I think we are excited because we are proud that we do follow unspoken "rules" per se of good breeding techniques...health testing is just the start and even though we all post it on our websites, have records to prove it and so forth it is nice to be given credit for it..

I think that was a good idea...I like the disclaimer you put up there as well...it all boils down to any future puppy buyers need to do their homework...research the tests that are offered for this breed, research bloodlines, research care and management...too many people are unsuspecting of all that goes into the behind the scenes of breeding good quality dogs...those that don't know all the health issues and general info on the Mastiff, we owe it to them as breeders to continually educate...when we stop educating ourselves and the people who inquire about the breed we are harboring ignorance which can be detrimental to us all.

What happens if we test our own dogs, but we've done a breeding to an untested male?  Does that leave me out??

Hi Jennifer,
The purple mark shows that these are breeders that only breed to tested males and females, regardless of who actually owns them.

If a person has bred to an untested male/female in the past but has no future plans to breed to untested dogs, then they could have the purple mark if they wanted.

Let me know if you have any more questions.  Thanks Jennifer!

I would like a couple more stars.  MCOA  member and cystinuria tested.  I use to test my girls, but am now just testing my boys.  I tested Porky until he was past 7 yrs old and just did Brooks who is 6 and Ike who will be 6 in Aug, Boomer who will be 5 in July and Rhett who is 3 and the others who are just over a yr.  I feel like I am throwing my money away testing the girls.

I've pinned this thread so it won't get lost.  Hopefully we'll hear from more people so we can keep updating, and please pass this info along to others.

I unpinned this because it seems to get more attention when it's mixed in with the other threads.  I know there are more people out there that would probably like an update, so if you know any of the other breeders listed can you help by contacting them and letting them know of the changes?  Thanks to anyone that can help out.

The site has been updated.  Please pass it along to people you know so they can contact me.  I personally know of a lot of people listed on the site that should be updated, but I'm unable to do so unless I hear from them directly.  Thanks for your help everyone.
