Has anyone heard of Von Schiedel's Mastiffs? The breeder is Carole Pope in East Greenfield IN. I have recently met a family, very nice upstanding family, and through small talk found out that they are buying a mastiff puppy from her. I just want to look out for them, and I have never heard of this lady before. So I wanted to pass it by all of you to make sure she is legit. They said she sounded very educated, and knew what she was doing, and has been doing it for years. There were some things said to me that put up a few red flags.... but again, I do not want to jump the gun, maybe I just misunderstood. But if you google the kennel name her website will come up. PLease, help me to help them. Dont hold back any comments or concerns.

I went back and looked closer, they have 5 breeding in the making. Two with Rebel and he is at stud for $5000. And 3 with Cowboy and at stud for $3500.

Reverse brindles are NOT rare I have had 4 of them.

You can get the # 1 mastiff in the country for less then that..

I would run also. Tell you friend to be careful with this one.

I had to somewhat giggle at the bolded and underlined part...
According to their website, their "Rebel" was the sire of the 2009 Eukanuba National Champion.

Maybe thats why they charge so much (or think that they can) ?

I just heard from Cynthia Boe who owns Next In Line.  She's never heard of them and has contacted them to remove her picture.  These people are unbelievable!

I can not believe some people, they will take your dogs name, pictures and health testing to promote there so called breeding program. The nerve of some people.
Ya know most people that are looking for companions have no idea they are being lied to, they think they are getting great puppies from nationally ranked dogs and are paying a fortune.

 Hopefully they take it off.

Oh and please let's don't forget the Holiday special.

Good breeders do not sell holiday gifts they sell dogs.

Kodey if you can't convince them to shop elsewhere using the usual subtle tactics remind them of what I just posted.  Have them look ariund on some forums, the parent club and some good breeders sites.

Good Luck adnI hope you can convince them to saave their money and go elsewhere.

I don't know this person but I heard about this site last year from a person who also bought from them.  I have asked them to remove my dog Nacimiento's Next in Line from their site and informed them that the information they are posting about my dog isn't even correct.  That is a scary site!

All breeding stock are OFA certified, or out of Certified Parents.
We have never had any PRA problems, & do CERF's when possible.

That's a funny one!

This WHOLE website is full of misleading information. I stopped counting the red flags almost as soon as I opened the website. I am not sure what is worse them or the people that actually buy from them.

I am going to contact them to remove the MCOA link, an unsuspecting uneducated puppy buyer would think that they are a member of MCOA the way their website is set up.

Cynthia perhaps it is time to notify the site manager they are illegally posting your pictures etc.  Also a written  request to delete it including that you will pursue all legal avenues if this is not complied with.

Mary,

You should also tell them to take the blatant lie about the 2009 Eukanuba BOB/BIS down, that's just a slap in the face.  Last I checked your boy Giambi took BOB last year, and I don't think a mastiff has ever taken BIS at Eukanuba.

And did you guys see this?!! So, you buy a puppy with a bad temperament or is sick and you guys owe these people more money!!!!!! Seriously, this seems criminal...at the VERY least extremely immoral!!!!!
Quote:

Regardless of the reason for return, we will not, under any circumstances, refund any money paid for the dog.

However, we will not charge you for their care and resale unless we deem the reasons to be unreasonable or due to an issue we feel you could safely resolve on your own. If the dog is returned do to innate temperament problems and a proper adjustment period has been given for a new dog/pup, no money will be required. If the puppy is being returned due to a bad purchase decision on your part, we will require a minimum a $50.00 fee and maximum $1500.00

If, upon examination, the dog is found to be unhealthy, we require that you pay at least half of the vet bills for her/his care.

If it is found that the dog was sold, or given away, or taken to the humane society or to a rescue, a fine no less then $500.00 will immediately be enforced. The maximum fee is $5000.00, depending on the circumstances. If the dog taken to the humane society and is destroyed, the maximum fine will be required immediately

Thanks everyone so much for validating my thoughts. I do appreciate it. So now the questions is HOW do I tell him and his family she is ripping him off big time? Do I just show him this thread? I also posted it on facebook, everyone said the same thing. I just wanted other opinions before I said anything.
